This guide is tailored for replacing the steering wheel of a 2016 or newer ND MX-5 Miata with an aftermarket option, specifically using the sleek KenStyle Steering Wheel.
- Start by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery, then press the brake pedal until the rear lights go out, indicating the vehicle is completely powered down.
- Before you begin to remove the steering wheel, take out the SRS Airbag and Horn fuse.
- In the three service holes, locate and remove the airbag lock, which is about 1 to 2 cm inside the hole.
- After unlocking the airbag, proceed with caution as it will slightly eject from the steering wheel.
